Year on year, oral fluid drug testing continues to grow in popularity in Australian workplaces. Over the past twenty plus years, our Drug Test Warehouse team have seen more and more companies move away from urine drug testing and towards oral fluid drug testing.

Oral fluid drug testing does have many advantages for workplace drug testing over other methods, including:

  1. Non-Invasive and Easy Collection:
    • The collection process is non-invasive and simple. It involves swabbing the inside of the mouth with a collection device, making it less intimidating than urine tests.
  2. Convenience:
    • Oral fluid testing can be easily conducted on-site, which makes it convenient for employers and testing facilities. There’s no need for special facilities or bathrooms for sample collection.
  3. Difficult to Adulterate:
    • It is more challenging for individuals to adulterate or manipulate oral fluid samples compared to urine samples, as the collection process can be directly observed.
  4. Shorter Detection Window:
    • Oral fluid testing is effective for detecting recent drug use. It has a shorter detection window compared to urine or hair testing, making it useful for identifying recent drug consumption.
  5. Rapid Onsite Results:
    • The results of oral fluid drug tests are generally available quickly, often within a matter of minutes, which can be beneficial in situations where timely results are essential.

The Drug Test Warehouse team have seen many advances in oral fluid drug testing, especially in the last ten or so years. From the launch of the SoToxa Drug Test Analyser (a replacement from the Alere DDS2 Analyser) to the introduction of the ToxWipe and DrugCheck 3000 into the Australian market, but the latest device to come to market, the Swift ToxCheck 7 is solving many shortfalls of other devices to date. So, lets dive in and see why Australian users are already raving about the ToxCheck 7.

Firstly, and most importantly, like all saliva drug testing kits sold at Drug Test Warehouse, the ToxCheck 7 has been independently verified for compliance to Australian / New Zealand Standard AS/NZS 4760:2019. This standard sets out the minimum performance requirements for saliva drug testing kits. Should a saliva drug test kit not be verified for compliance, we would not recommend purchasing / using it for testing.

Secondly, the ToxCheck 7 is extremely easy to use. There is no need for complicated processes like breaking foils, shaking, pressing, inverting, connecting pieces. Simply collect the sample until the adequacy indicator changes colour, insert in the test cassette and wait for the results.

This brings us to the third advantage. Results are generally available from as little as 2 minutes. This is a vast improvement compared to many other saliva drug testing kits on the market which take between 5 and 10 minutes, with some needing a pre-incubation time which further delays test results. With ToxCheck, more tests can be completed in a given time period.

Finally, a major draw back for saliva drug testing has always been the cost. This is another area where the ToxCheck 7 excels. It is extremely competitively priced with quantity discounts available. Purchasing is also hassle free at Drug Test Warehouse. To purchase, simply add your desired quantity to your shopping cart and checkout. Orders placed before 2pm AEST, we even offer same day dispatch.
